Determining the Right Size Generator
To select the proper generator, you’ll need to determine the power (kW) requirements that have to be met under operating conditions. Undersizing a generator can become a problem that is easily avoided by considering all of the loads that will be connected to the generator. This will ensure the generator you select is large enough to handle your present and anticipated needs.
This chart below estimates the output amperage of a generator based on the operating power and voltage. Please note that this table is intended to be used as an estimate of how many amps a generator outputs during operation and is not an exact representation due to various factors that can increase or decrease this value.
